My answer was NO.
Despite countless hours spend developing core systems for role-play, tactical combat, lore and history I have no more energy to continue on this path. I can see my invisible reader shrugging his or her shoulders, "big deal, just another unfinished indie project". True.
But as your first love, I will always remeber it with kind sadness.
Stalker was my first attempt to write a comprehensive table-top game, that could be easy to pick up and play. It gave me a point of reference to all my future and current projects.
But back in 2012 I had no idea that it would be such an enourmous undertaking, that i will be racing against others with much more expirience and focus in game design. That my dream game, will become an abomination of every idea i had in my mind. That it will crush under its own complexity. That reality will catch up with my "sci-fi" lore. That gaming around Zone will become a politically charged subject after events in Ukraine in 2014 and 2022.
That while i will keep reworking my game, others will publish such great games as board game Zona, skirmish game Zona Alpha and Contraband, Stalker board game by Awaken Realms, and last but not least the Stalker 2 will come out.
But, I've learned how to work on project without anyones guidance. How to playtest, find publisher, testers, how to build underlying framwork and connect it with games lore. All that will serve me well.
But, now I say good bye to Stalker.
Thank you, for the trip to Exclusion Zone of game design.
